Los Angeles, CA. November 16, 2012 - Katherine Heigl and Nancy Heigl, who together founded the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation in 2008, today announced the hiring of Jennifer Brent as Executive Director, effective immediately.

Brent comes to the JDHF from the Found Animals Foundation, where she was External Relations Manager from 2008. While at Found Animals she helped find homes for, literally, thousands of homeless animals in Los Angeles. She planned and executed multiple adoption events across 14 locations simultaneously, resulting in over 8,000 companion animals finding homes, with the cooperation of three major governmental agencies. She garnered donations in excess of $10,000.00 for each event, growing them from a single location once annually to biannual events across the multiple locations. Brent also conceived, built and managed the Cat Adoption Center in Downey, whose annual adoption rate is over 400 animals per year. Crucially, she also brought together thousands of Los Angeles municipal employees and animal welfare advocates through the implementation of such events as the Found Animals Forum, the Found Animals Leaders in Animal Welfare Gala and a series of Trap-Neuter-Return classes.

Said Katherine and Nancy Heigl of the appointment, "We are proud to have someone as uniquely qualified as Jennifer Brent join the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. The initiatives she has created in her career in animal welfare, in terms of rescue, adoption and community outreach, dovetail precisely with the JDHF’s mission. We know that working with Jennifer at our helm will increase our ability to save more animals and ultimately lead us to a no kill nation."

"I am absolutely thrilled to join the team at the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation: to continue to strive to find homes for the unwanted pets of California and beyond, to expand existing programs, and to develop new ways to end this country’s homeless pet problem," said Jennifer Brent.
