Parachute cord, know commonly as paracord, is a versatile material with a myriad of uses. In fact, it is so versatile that it is now being used to help animals in need!
PDM Paracord Products have very generously offered to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Orange Ribbon and Purple Ribbon Paracord Survival Bracelets to the Heigl Foundation. Funds will help support our mission to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance.
The Paracord Bracelets are made from several feet of 550lb. paracord which is knotted into a wearable bracelet by braiding a sheath from the various strands of material. The products, favored by hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts, are a vital tool in a survival situation. The bracelets can simply be un-braided to form a continuous piece of cord ranging from 8 to 24 feet in length, that can be used for everything from replacing a broken shoelace during a mountain climb, to fashioning a fishing line.
Paracord can be used to attach a tarp to a shelter, lash together poles, secure cargo, assist with a water rescue and even help control bleeding in a first aid situation. The list of uses is almost endless. In 1997, Paracord was even used to repair the Space Shuttle! From a broken strap to a backpack repair, Paracord is one of the most adaptable pieces of equipment on earth. It is light, convenient and super tough.
