The eye opening exposé of the pet industry and the animal welfare system features famous animal loving celebrities including Pink, Kim Kardashian and Katherine Heigl.

Saved In America showcases Kim Sill's five year journey rescuing animals while coming face-to-face with animal abusers, hoarders, gang members and puppy mill owners. It tells the story of everyday heroes who spend their time and resources saving animals from death row.

The Foundation's Executive Director Jennifer Brent conducted a Q & A session after the screening, and outside the theater a number of our four-legged friends seeking forever homes greeted patrons at our booth.

All proceeds from the film, which will screen at noon daily in the Agoura Hills Regency Theater until August 20th, benefit small animal welfare organizations working for animal rights. Saturday's special showing raised $2500 in receipts, with the funds going to support the Heigl Foundation's ongoing work.

In addition to thanking Kim Sill for her tireless work and support, we would also like to give a huge shout out to attendee Robert Frazier who very kindly offered to match the $2500 raised on the day with funds from his own pocket. His kindness will help us to benefit even more animals in need, and brought the total raised from the event to $5000. We are extremely grateful to both Kim and Robert for their generosity.

Accompanying Katherine Heigl to the screening was her niece Madison, who fell in love with one of the adoptable pups at the event, an adorable 15 week old black Chihuahua rescue, whom she promptly adopted with help from her famous aunt. Poppy Louise Rosamund Haworth was the regal sounding name she chose for her new furry friend.
