It has been over a year since the Winter Olympics in Sochi, where a number of stray dogs scheduled to be euthanized were rescued by the U.S. team, adopted and settled in new homes in the United States. Sports Illustrated caught up with the pups to find out how they have settled into their new homes.

Many of you will remember the Sochi, one of the stray dogs rescued from the streets of the Russia by staff from the United States Winter Olympics Team. His new owner Amanda Bird, the Marketing and Communications Director for the Bobsled & Skeleton team, got in touch recently to tell us how much the young German Shepherd is enjoying his new life in Tennessee.

It has been a long journey in both distance and time for Sochi and Adler, our two adorable stray pups rescued by staff from the United States Winter Olympics Team off the streets of their Russian hometown. Thankfully, it will be a journey with a happy ending, as both dogs will now be adopted to loving homes having completed their compulsory 30 day quarantine period without incident.

Wonderful news – our very poorly Russian rescue pup Sochi has beaten parvo and defeated distemper! He was released from hospital into the care of his foster Olivia yesterday, to continue his recovery. Check out some adorable photos of the tiny German Shepherd pup who has battled back against the odds.
