JDHF & ASPCA Partner To Target Pet Overpopulation

At the JDHF we continue our efforts to stem the tide of animals that come into shelters each year through preemptive action – sterilization! Aided by a $25,000 grant from the ASPCA, we are paying for spay/neuters for four high-risk zip codes representing nearly a quarter of a million people in Los Angeles.

ASPCA & Subaru Grant Helps Save More Lives

The JDHF was delighted to be the recipient of a $5000 grant from the ASPCA and Subaru in support of our transport program. The initiative relocates companion animals from high kill shelters in Los Angeles, to new homes and new lives in regions of the United States where the demand for adoptable pets exceeds the supply from shelters and rescue groups.

Los Angeles ASPCA Cocktail Party

Representing the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, Katherine Heigl attended a special event last night in Beverly Hills, a cocktail party to celebrate the ASPCA announcement of a major investment of $25 million over five years in Los Angeles animal welfare. Collaborating with public and private animal-welfare organizations the money will be used to help curb the homeless pet population.
