Animal welfare organization H.E.A.L, supported by the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, held a meeting on November 3, 2011 in San Bernardino with prominent local citizens and politicians to encourage their participation in making much needed improvements to the community shelter. At the meeting attendees were informed about the poor state of repair at the 60 year-old San Bernardino Shelter, which maintains and cares for animals in five contracted cities.

This Sunday (October 16) between 8.30am and 3.00pm, the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation will be at Perris Hill Park in San Bernardino at the Hot Rods & Harleys benefit event for H.E.A.L. We will be supporting H.E.A.L and their fundraising efforts for the San Bernardino Animal Shelter. The show is free for spectators so please come along, show your support for a great cause and enjoy some great cars and bikes!

On June 10th, 50 dogs from the City of San Bernardino Animal Control Shelter in California were given a second chance at life when they were transported from the high kill shelter to out of state rescues that do not euthanize animals in their care. The transport of the group was organized by animal welfare organization H.E.A.L and funded by the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.

In a press conference held today at the Four Seasons Hotel, Katherine Heigl, accompanied by the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation Board, kicked off a major companion pet initiative – The Compassion Revolution. Its broad mission is to unite diverse groups and individuals under one alliance to initiate programs that will directly address the pet overpopulation crisis in the area, and to set a precedent for similar programs across the country.
