Saved In America Screening Raises Funds For Animals In Need

Saved In America Fundraiser

Katherine Heigl joined Foundation staff and volunteers at the red carpet screening of animal welfare campaigner Kim Sill’s documentary Saved In America in Agoura Hills, California, on Saturday, August 15. Proceeds from the eye opening exposé of the pet industry and the animal welfare system directly benefit animals in need.

Saved In America is a film that documents Kim Sill’s 5 year journey rescuing animals, while coming face-to-face with animal abusers, hoarders, gang members and puppy mill owners. It exposes the pet industry and the animal welfare system, while showcasing everyday heroes who spend their time and resources saving animals from death row. Don’t miss it!

Road Trip For Rascals

Road Trip For Rascals

On August 5th, 46 kittens and a Chihuahua were part of a transport funded by the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation from Long Beach Animal Care Services (ACS) to the Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden, Colorado. ACS staff and volunteers from a number of rescue groups working the transport with our coordinator Diane Holmes, teamed up with photographer Sara Cozolino and journalist Kate Karp to document the journey.
