Saved In America Screening Raises Funds For Animals In Need

Katherine Heigl joined Foundation staff and volunteers at the red carpet screening of animal welfare campaigner Kim Sill’s documentary Saved In America in Agoura Hills, California, on Saturday, August 15. Proceeds from the eye opening exposé of the pet industry and the animal welfare system directly benefit animals in need.

Launching The Fall 5000 Campaign & Pets To Patriots Program

Pets To Patriots

At the press conference to launch the Los Angeles Animal Alliance’s Fall 5000 Campaign on Friday, the JDHF represented by Nancy, Meg and Katherine Heigl and executive director Kathy Davis, announced the Pets To Patriots initiative, a program which will provide no-cost adoptions for veterans at participating shelters in the Greater Los Angeles area. This initiative is a small token of our appreciation to the legion of heroes who have given so much.

Get Your Licks On Route 66

The JDHF joined the Bark Avenue Foundation and North Shore Animal League’s 3rd Annual "Get Your Licks On Route 66" event in downtown LA on Saturday. The event was held in honor of Puppy Mill Awareness Day and to promote the importance of adopting pets from shelters. The gathering on Main Street attracted a number of rescue groups who brought along highly adoptable dogs, cats and bunnies. Key advocates in the rescue community spoke at the event, which was also supported by celebrity animal lovers.
