Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace

We thought it would be nice to share some beautiful photographs of Grace, an amazing dog that we rescued a few months ago. Regular visitors may remember that in September, we received a plea from staff at the Baldwin Park Shelter in Los Angeles who were desperate to ensure that Grace, a five year old Pit Bull stray found on the streets, would not be left to die alone after a life of suffering.

With Good Grace

With Good Grace

Almost a month has past since we last updated you about Grace, the five year old Pit Bull rescued in a very poor state of health after suffering years of neglect and abuse, so we thought it was time to share some good news! Recently, JDHF board member Meg Heigl-Beltran visited her at the sanctuary where she is being cared for and was thrilled to see how well she has progressed.

Days Of Grace

Days Of Grace

In the few weeks that have passed since we rescued Grace, the five year old Pit Bull clinging desperately to life after years of neglect and abuse, there have been many moments when we feared she might not pull through. In hindsight, we should never have doubted her tenacity, spirit and strength of character.

Saving Grace

Grace

Thankfully despite being more than 20lbs underweight, suffering from diabetes and in a very poor state of health following years of neglect and abuse, Grace, who had been clinging on to life at the Baldwin Park Shelter before desperate staff alerted us to her plight, survived the legal holding period for stray animals and was released into our care. Showing great tenacity, bravery and fighting spirit she continues to battle for survival.
