Ace

Looking for a sweet, handsome hunk with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and a serious appreciation for a comfy bed? Meet Ace! This approximately 6-year-old, 65-pound Plott Hound is the whole package: a gorgeous brindle-coated gentleman with a laid-back personality and a heart full of love. He’s kennel trained and happily trots right into his kennel when asked. Car rides? No problem! Ace is a calm and easy-going travel buddy who’s ready to ride shotgun on your next adventure.

Ace gets along well with other dogs, too! And while he is a Plott Hound, he seems to have misplaced his hound choir membership. Doesn’t appear very vocal in our care. Maybe he’s saving his big performance for a special occasion.

Ace is a strong puller on leash, so he’ll need a person prepared to help him work on his walking manners. He did very well with a properly fitted nose halter or prong collar, and his future human should be comfortable using appropriate walking equipment safely.

Like most adoptable dogs Ace may also need a little extra patience and security while he bonds with his new person and settles into his new home. He can be a flight risk during this adjustment period, so a securely fenced yard of at least 5 feet is recommended. He must remain leashed on walks, and he should never be left unattended in the yard until he’s fully acclimated and reliable about staying home. Think of it as keeping this handsome explorer safe while he learns that he’s finally found his forever place.

Ace isn’t asking for a mansion or a million-dollar dog bed (although he probably wouldn’t complain). He just needs a loving human, a little patience, a safe place to call home, and someone willing to help him settle in and shine.

Could you be the lucky person who gives Ace his happily-ever-after? Ace is available to adopt in Utah.
