Loki

They say the best things come in smaller packages, and Loki is living proof. This handsome Rottweiler mix gentleman weighs in at just 40 pounds, but when it comes to love, he’s carrying a whole lot more than his share.

Estimated to be around 8–9 years old, Loki is beginning to wear a little silver around his handsome face, giving him that distinguished, seasoned look that only comes with many turns around the sun. He’s a gentle soul whose golden years should be spent surrounded by comfort, kindness, and all the affection his heart can hold.

This sweet senior has a calm, mild nature and is as easy-going as they come. He walks beautifully on leash, takes treats with the softest mouth, and is simply a joy to be around.

Loki is slowing down a bit these days. He’s somewhat wobbly on his feet, and his eyesight and hearing are beginning to fade. For that reason, we’re hoping to find him a special home—a compassionate person or family who understands that senior dogs have their own pace and who can offer him a safe, loving place to enjoy whatever time he has left.

At his age, Loki isn’t looking for high-energy adventures — just a warm, soft bed, a relaxed lifestyle, and a family who will appreciate his quiet companionship. He may be a little stiff, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying gentle walks and soaking up affection.

He’s good with other dogs, although Loki has a rather enthusiastic approach to making friends. His preferred introduction involves an abundance of kisses, and while he believes this is an excellent way to win hearts, some of his canine companions haven’t been quite as impressed with his affectionate technique!

Loki is neutered and vaccinated and ready to find the person who will give him the greatest gift of all: a home where he is cherished, comfortable, and never again has to wonder where he belongs. He may not be up for long hikes or grand adventures, but Loki still has plenty of love to give. Sometimes the most meaningful rescue isn’t about finding a dog who will be with you for years, but about making the years they have left the very best they can possibly be. Loki doesn’t need forever to be perfect. He just needs someone to make his forever feel like home.
