DESCRIPTION
Some dogs turn heads. Rin Tin stops you in your tracks.
This handsome 65-pound Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix is quite the looker, sporting a beautiful sable short-haired coat, the classic Malinois black mask, and a pair of eyes that seem to look straight into your soul. But beyond his striking good looks is a devoted, energetic boy who is ready to find his person and settle into a life of love, adventure, and commitment.
Rin Tin came to the Jason Heigl Foundation in Oakley from a shelter in Vernal, Utah, so little is known about his early history. What we do know is that he loves his people, forms meaningful connections, and has plenty of energy to share with someone who appreciates an active, intelligent dog.
He’s a strong, spirited boy who will benefit from an experienced, committed owner willing to provide structure, consistency, exercise, and continued training. Rin Tin can pull on leash, but walks nicely when guided with a correction collar. He needs an active home where he can put his energy to good use through daily exercise, outdoor adventures, and plenty of engagement with his favorite humans.
One important note: Rin Tin needs to be the only dog in the household. He wants his people all to himself, and he’ll thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention.
Rin Tin is neutered and vaccinated and ready for his next chapter. More than anything, he needs someone who sees beyond his handsome exterior and recognizes the loyal companion waiting to emerge. He’s not looking for a temporary landing spot. He’s looking for his person—someone willing to invest the time, build the bond, embrace his big personality, and make a lifelong promise. It’s possible with the right home and feeling safe he could be just swell with a dog sibling but it’s hard to evaluate in a shelter environment.
If you’re ready for a loyal adventure partner with a heart as big as his energy, Rin Tin may just be your guy. He is available to adopt in Utah.
