On June 17, April Mixon, who was inspired to fundraise for the JDHF after watching the PSA for the Compassion Revolution, will be running the Vancouver USA Marathon to raise money to help reduce the number of healthy, adoptable pets killed in shelters simply because enough homes can not be found for them. Katherine Heigl & Rachael Ray Announce Fundraising Partnership on The Rachael Ray Show

Longtime supporters of animal rights – daytime host and bestselling author Rachael Ray and actress Katherine Heigl – have joined forces to address the pet overpopulation crisis. Rachael has made a $150,000 donation to support the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation in funding spay/neuter initiatives directly aimed at reducing the number of unwanted, yet highly adoptable and loving, pets abandoned or relinquished to municipal shelters and subsequently euthanized.
