Handsome Cisco is likely a Doberman Lab mix – with possibly a hint of pointer. Rescued from a rural California shelter where he was dumped with his brothers and sisters he is shy and hesitant with new people, but warms up with patient and gentle leadership. He is about 6 months old and 30 pounds, so he won’t be huge – but he will not be petite either! He is currently fostered with several dogs ranging in size from 80 pounds to 10 pounds – he is very submissive and respectful to each of them. His foster household also includes several cats and if they don’t run he doesn’t notice them – suffice it to say he will do well with dog savvy cats. Cisco’s favorite pastime is following around the resident big dog and bugging him to play – so a home with a big, playful buddy would be ideal. Cisco’s other hobbies include chasing balls and not bringing them back, inventing new chew toys, and sleeping in the big dog’s bed. Besides being a little shy he is your typical naughty puppy!
Cisco has spent his time in foster learning the basics of how to be a dog around humans. He is still working on his puppy manners and housetraining – but he is very smart and food motivated. Cisco walks very well on the leash and he really enjoys running alongside his foster human while she skates. He will need someone committed to getting him his daily exercise. He is an excellent candidate for wearing a backpack and being a hiking buddy. Cisco needs a special someone who can show this neglected puppy how to be a thriving member of a family.
Cisco is located in the Los Angeles area. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
