As we observe Veterans Day, JDHF co-founder Nancy Heigl has a special message for our veterans and service members.
A sincere thank you to all the veterans and active duty military who risk their own lives to keep us safe every day, and for securing us the freedom to live in a country where we can say and express our opinions freely. And, equally, our gratitude goes out to the families of service members and the sacrifices they make keeping their families nurtured while their loved one is serving.
There is verse from a Bruce Springsteen song that I like and I think it is appropriate for today:
“Some say freedom is free, but I tend to disagree. I say freedom is won on the blood of someone’s son.”
